SPARKLING with my NOT so LITTLE EYE

After my first experience with DOT DOT’s cosmetic line, I find myself running to the nearest SASA outlet to experience the entire range on a first hand basis.

If in doubt before making a purchase, you can always try the testers available before making a purchase.

Being a total whore for beautiful packaging and shimmery stuff, I was caught immersed in two or perhaps more of their products.

Why is that so?

Shimmers and glitters happened to be one of the best option to give you dolly, watery eyes in almost an instant and when use appropriately, you will definitely not look like a disco ball.

Thus girls, fear no longer today as I will be doing a simple easy to follow step by step demonstration with the help of DOT DOT’s lovely eye makeup to achieve a lovely dramatic eye makeup for a eventful girl’s night out.

To get things started, I will be introducing 2 products from DOT DOT’s range of cosmetics that we will be using:
  • DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette
  • DOT DOT’s Tri-color Magic Light Liquid Eyeliner (Devil Series)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off, the DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette,

Priced @ $29.90 for a 10.5g compact

Do remember to always look out for the authentic Shills sticker to be assured that it is an original Shills product.

Cheap fakes will harm your face, thus be selective and not scrimp in expense of your one and only face.

I just can't wait to give this fabulous DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette a try.

At first glimpse for the interior.

Little did anyone expect, an in-built secret compartment that reveals more eye shadow colours.

The compact is designed as it reminds me of the magic disappearing box I used to owned when I was a kid. It sure brings back tons of fond memories.

  6. Royal gold: Luxurious combination of a shimmery beige gold base with a splash of gold glitters
  7. Chocolate brown: A cream based shadow which works absolutely fabulous as an eye primer base or an eye liner

  • Big inbuilt mirror and tools provided for hassle free on the go touch ups
  • Finely milled and pigmented
  • Long lasting
  • Glides on effortlessly
  • Minimal fall out
  • Shimmery fine glitters give an optical illusion of larger eyes upon application
  • Highly usable colours and easy to mix and match for various looks
  • The inclusion of a highlight and eye primer base all in one palette

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My thoughts,

I had lots of fun experimenting with the colours and managed to achieve different smoky eye looks easily with the DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette.

Whether my choice of a light day look or a dramatic night look is entirely up to my desire as the eye shadow’s intensity is buildable upon layering.

The 7 colours in the palette are complimentary in nature thus making it easy to get endless fabulous results every single time I attempt using it.

The shimmers within the eye shadows are also evenly distributed thus requires less blending for a harmonious look.

The Chocolate brown cream eye shadow is a pleasant surprise as it can be either used alone, as an eye liner or to intensify the rest of the colours when used as a base. It adds a whole new dimension to the spectrum of hues that we were originally given in the DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To test out the claims and the functionality of the DOT DOT’s Tri-color Magic Light Liquid Eyeliner (Devil Series), I will be conducting various experiments with it,

First to start things off, the functionality of the in-built brush applicator,

Examining the brush before the experiment.

After a hassle free attempt to draw intricate designs on my skin, it is confirmed that the brush is indeed capable to draw out really fine and flexible curves and lines.

Here's a picture with flash for those who is curious on the glitter payout.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last but not least, is subjecting the picture that I just grew to intense rubbing and constant running water,

The final results are as shown.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What I love about it:
  • Soft, fine flexible brush for easy application
  • Smudge proof when completely dried
  • Even distribution of the glitter
  • Long lasting
  • Highly versatile colour combination and usage, as an eye liner or a glittery eye shadow when quickly smudged before drying
  • Fast drying
  • Light reflecting glitters give a more 3-dimensional look for bigger looking dolly eyes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My thoughts,

I personally find that it is even suitable for beginners or individuals like me who seldom use liquid eye liners as application is much easier with the highly flexible brush provided.

The fine brush too makes it possible to produced really fine precise lines and glides on effortlessly with its smooth texture.

An element of fun was incorporated into my eye makeup with the use of the DOT DOT’s Tri-color Magic

Light Liquid Eyeliner as the glitter adds on a different texture to the whole look. It lasted well even during a long day out in our warm and humid weather.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last but not least, the  highlight of the post, the long awaited step by step eye makeup demonstration with the above 2 DOT DOT’s eye makeup product that I just mentioned,

Before rushing head first into it, here are some tools and steps that is recommended before starting,

Recommended tools:
  • Eye lash curler (manual or electric up to one’s desire)
  • Mascara
  • Eye brow pencil
  • Blending brush (Can use the one provided in the DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette)

Preparation steps:
  • Cleanse and dry thoroughly both your face and hands
  • Apply nude eye primer on your lids as a base
  • Top up with concealer as per desired

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s now start the demonstration with the use of the DOT DOT’s Smoky Shimmer Eye Shadow Palette first,

After proper prepping of your eye area, do remember to shape your brows as well.

Use the Chocolate brown creamy eye shadow as a base to work the rest of the colours on.

Apply the Gun metal grey in a gentle patting upwards motion from the bottom of your upper eye lid as close as you can from the lash line.

Gently pat the Silvery grey in a patting upwards motion to the center of your upper lid area.

Use the Copper bronze in a patting upwards motion for the top of your upper lid area. Apply the Pearly beige under the arch of your eye brown for an instant perk me up for tired looking eyes.

With the help of a blending brush, blend the harsh looking lines for the above steps for a more harmonious look.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next would be the usage of the DOT DOT’s Tri-color Magic Light Liquid Eyeliner (Devil Series),

Line the bottom of the upper eye lid as close as it is to your lash line with the black eye liner. Do draw a thicker line for those with single eye lids like me.

Do likewise for the top of the bottom eye lid, stop at only half or 2/3 of the entire eye. Lining the entire eye would be too fierce looking.

With the use of the silver eye liner, line the inner corners of your eyes for an instant waking effect for tired looking eyes.

Last but not least, curl your lashes and coat them with your desired mascara for a finished look.

Mascara is a must with heavy eye makeup as one would look as though she does not have any eye lashes with the overwhelming look from afar.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And… if you prefer a lighter day look which brings out one’s playful personality, here’s my attempt for reference.

I have used Peppermint green for the inner top corner and Pearly beige for the outer of my upper eye lid. Follow by Royal gold for the center of my upper eye lid.

Last but not least, line the upper eye lid with the black eye liner, smudge the gold eye liner sparingly for my bottom eye lid and top it off with a nice coat of mascara.

That’s all for today, hope you girls enjoyed the demonstration.
