Are you brave enough?

Do not be afraid, can you resist the temptation?

Come a little closer to achieve those lovely sweet rosy cheeky that you always desire.

Wondering that what are all this suspense is for?

It’s none other than an introduction for Majolica Majorca Chapter 30: Sugary Trap.

I am super hyped when I received the notification that I was selected for their latest makeup workshop to experience their newly launched products. Thus here am I sharing the gems that I have discovered from it.

Once again, many thanks to the lovelies at CLEO and Majolica Majorca for giving me this generous opportunity and a guaranteed fun filled evening. Love you guys tons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As usual, it was held in the neat and sleek Shiseido office building. The workshop was held in a lovely and adeptly decorated room that resonates well with the theme of attaining a sweet yet desirable look.

Here are close up shots of the luxurious princess-y atmosphere that oozes out from the room,

Aren't they just adorable? It kinds of reminds me of my childhood fairy tales fantasies about being a princess, through do have to admit that reality have robbed me of them.

The makeup tools provided for each individual during the workshop.

The lovely Majolica Majorca products that I can't wait to lay my paws on once I set my eyes on them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the fact that the workshop was once again hosted by the funny and easy going makeup artist, Wilson.

His workshops are always light hearted and cheery which is a major stress-reliever after a hard day at work.

It was a pleasant surprise that he had recognize me out from the rest as I was an avid fan and supporter for Majolica Majorca as their products are always so tempting and fascinating yet still being easy on the pockets.

Another fun part was that I met Gin again as well, talk about affinity. I was glad to be able to do some catching up since I last saw her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting back to the workshop,

What I love about the hands-on workshop such as this is that I get to play and experiment around with the cosmetics provided without being stared at like some cheapskate at a departmental store.

Being a makeup junkie by nature, I can’t help it if I acted as through I am spacing out when I look at newly launched cosmetics that I do not own.

This me with minimal makeup before removing at the start of the workshop, I personally feel that cosmetics are a basic necessity in my everyday life.

Here is Wilson enthusiastically explaining the latest makeup trends for 2011 and the story behind Majolica Majorca Chapter 30: Sugary Trap.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With further ado, as a picture speaks a thousand words, please enjoy the self explanatory pictures,

The most crucial moment during the presentation is definitely the explanation on how to use their Jeweling Eyes Shadow Quad in the proper manner to achieve the desired effect.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the presentation, it was my favorite time of the workshop, the makeup demonstration and hands-on session,

The first model was given a flawless base foundation to enhance her features.

The second model was given a pair of sexy yet defined looking eye brows.

I loved the fact that Wilson engages the participants by selecting various models for different segment during the demonstration.

The third model of the day is fellow blogger, Annaling who is seated at my table. I love her friendly and approachable character that makes the laughter around my table more infectious.

She was chosen to get her eye makeup done with Majolica Majorca’s PK330 Strawberry Cake Jeweling Eyes Shadow Quad.

With the help of Wilson and a little Majolica Majorca’s magic, the completed look was indeed impressive and sweet. I was surprised at how lovely it looks and how one can actually make pink eye shadow work instead of achieving a bruised looking eye.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than being amazed by Majolica Majorca’s PK330 Strawberry Cake Jeweling Eyes Shadow Quad, I was immediately sold when I tried on the Majolica Majorca’s Cream Pencil Liner and the Majolica Majorca’s Puff De Cheek Blushers.

I loved how the Majolica Majorca’s Cream Pencil Liner glides on effortlessly, is waterproof, easy to handle and being versatile enough to create lines that are similar to liquid liners.

Not forgetting the luxurious Majolica Majorca’s Puff De Cheek Blushers with its smooth, velvety texture, lovely hues, fine yet pigmented powder and the soft and functional puff that is included.

Another point to add is their princess-y to die for packaging, I can’t help but grab a few more with its affordable price, functional properties and in a way help to beautify my dressing table as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a lovely time spent at the workshop, making new friends, experimenting with the newly launched products while learning useful tips and guidance.

Thanks for the hard work for Majolica Majorca’s staffs for the coordination, behind the scenes and for making this possible.

Setting and packing up must have been such a hassle.

I will now end this post, with my first personal attempt of the bold pink eye makeup look for the day.

I personally find that it was probably a little too sweet for me but nevertheless I had fun donning this look for the evening.

Be ENCHANTED with Anna Sui’s SUIFY looks

Firstly, many thanks to Anna Sui and Isetan for hosting and giving me an opportunity to attend such a fun-filled and educative demonstration.

I have always wanted to get to know more about Anna Sui’s intricate looking cosmetics.

For the benefit of those who do not know about the brand: Anna Sui, here’s some trivia about it:
  • The brand name is inspired by the founder’s own name: Anna Sui.
  • The founder is an American fashion designer.
  • Her brand compromises a wide range of: fashion clothing, accessories, fragrances and cosmetics.
  • Her perfume and cosmetic line debuted in 1999.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And if you girls are wondering, I’ll let you know why I have this deadly attraction to Anna Sui’s cosmetics,
  • I am a sucker when it comes to really beautiful and intricate looking packaging.
  • I am a big fan to the colour black and also to rose motifs.
  • They really do produce practical, high quality perfume and cosmetics that are well raved by others.
  • I love the girly, feminine yet bad girl image it exudes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting back to the demonstration,

The demonstration focuses on how to use Anna Sui’s cosmetics to create their SUIFY looks to suit various occasions.

Namely: a simple day look, dramatic looking smoky eyes and last but not least, their trademark outrageous look.

It is held at their Isetan Orchard counter on a cheery Saturday afternoon.

The demonstration was hosted by the lovely and gentle cosmetic training officer: Michelle Kong.

I really love the way she brought us through the demonstration as her explanations were clear, easy to understand and the atmosphere was light and cheery due to her friendly composure.

Michelle mentioned that ladies always have the misconception that Anna Sui’s cosmetics are only suitable for loud or an intense look but, actually it mainly depends on the choice of colours.

It is also possible to use Anna Sui’s cosmetics to achieve an everyday day look that is suitable for work as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To start it off, three volunteer were pre-selected for the chosen three looks that we will be seeing for that day.

And... my favorite segment for the makeup demonstration, a simple method to an easily achievable smoky eye look,

Here's one of the lovely volunteer getting her dramatic purple smoky eyes done with the help of Michelle.

A muted lip color to give more focus to the expressive eye makeup.

Ta-dah~ Half the face done, notice the difference?

During the demonstration, I was elated when Michelle passed around the products she used on the volunteers to let us feel the smooth texture of Anna Sui’s cosmetics.

I am so madly in love with the soft and silky texture of the eyeshadow and primers after application on my skin.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Without further ado, the highlight of today’s post, step by step instructions for achieving the smoky eye look.

I have focused on the smoky eye look is because that Michelle really did a great job from simplifying the complicated steps on how to achieve it.

Here are step by step instruction and what I personally have used to created the purple smoky eye look, you may substitute to any other product brands as per desired.

What I have used:

  • Benefit’s Stay don’t stray (eye primer)
  • Anna Sui’s Eye color crayon (eye shadow) in 100
  • Inuovi’s Colours D27 eye shadow singles in 06932 Velvet
  • Maybelline’s Hyper diamonds in WN-1
  • Nature Republic’s Eye lover pearl pencil in White
  • Lakme’s Perfect definition eye pencil in 20 Midnight black
  • Majolica Majorca’s Lash bone black fiber in (eye lash primer)
  • Heroine make’s Long and curl mascara in Black
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Tools that I have used:

  • Anna Sui's Manual eye lash curler
  • Ecotools's Eye shading brush
  • Ecotools's Eyeliner brush
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pictures to make the instructions easier to follow:

Prime the eye area using an eye lid primer.

Use a blue eye colour crayon to shade the entire eye socket area.

Apply black eye shadow starting from the tip of the upper eye lid and work it in an upwards motion.

With the help of the purple eye shadow, blend and cover the rest of the eye socket area. Apply white or light purple eye shadow under the arch of your brow for an instant lifting effect.

Blend the whole eye socket area to prevent harsh looking lines.

Complete the look with the help of your desired black eyeliner and the mascara.

A more detailed closeup on the purple smoky eye look that I have done.

Note: Application of mascara is a must when creating the smoky eye look as the eye makeup is too overwhelming and in contrast you can’t really see your natural lashes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other tips that I have picked up during the demonstration:

For dolly looking eyes,
  • Curl your lashes using an eye lash curler in a continuous upwards motion. Do not tug or pull your lashes.
  • Prime your lashes with the application of an eye lash primer.
  • Use up to three different types of mascara to target your every need like one for each function like: lengthening, volumizing or separating.
  • Last but not least, use a lash brush or apply a coat of transparent mascara to remove any excess shadow or power from your lashes.

Note: For manual curlers, curl your lashes before apply mascara. For electric curlers, apply your mascara before curling as the mascara acts as a protective layer for your lashes.

---

The Anna Sui’s way of application of blushers,
  • Using a two tone blusher, swirl the brush with the darker tone, tap off excess and apply in a small circle at the middle of your cheek.
  • Using the lighter tone, surround the first circle that you have made and blend them out evenly using a blending brush.

Note: A blending brush helps to erase any harsh looking lines for a more natural and harmonious look.

---

For kissable lips,
  • Prep your lips with a lip balm or lip moisturizer and wait for it to settle.
  • Apply the first coating of your desired gloss or lipstick.
  • Add on some glittery gold gloss in the middle of your lips for that three dimension Angelina Jolie pout.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end of the demonstration, being the shopaholic me, I can’t resist the temptation of Anna Sui’s fabulous cosmetics so I got my hands on a few that caught my eye.

They are the:

  • Double cheek colour in 01 @ $41.00
  • Eye crayon (eye shadow) in 100 @ $35.00
  • Lip gloss R brilliant in 850 @ $33.00
Not forgetting the highlight of my day, the luxurious goodie bag that I was given. The bag itself was really pretty and I was pleasantly surprised when it contains all full sized retail items.

Once again, thanks Anna Sui for the generosities.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Girls, do give Anna Sui cosmetics a try, even though I do agree that their products are a little pricey on whole and the counter do seemed kind of high-class to approach.

Their cosmetics are of fabulous quality as they really pigmented and feels super light after application. Not forgetting the to die for packaging as well.

Fear not, head down to Anna Sui today as their beauty advisors are also really friendly and easy to talk to.

Till next time ^_^
